Leave-in conditioner is designed to stay on the hair after washing, adding slip and moisture before styling products go on. It is most effective on wet or very damp hair, when it can spread through sections instead of sitting heavily on the surface.
Use It as the First Layer
After rinsing regular conditioner, divide hair into sections and apply leave-in from mid-lengths to ends. Use less at the roots if your hair gets flat easily. Follow with cream or gel based on the style you are creating.
Start Small
Fine hair may need only a small amount per section, while dense coils may need more. Hair should feel soft and slippery, not sticky or saturated with product. If you need to refresh the next day, dilute a small amount with water rather than applying a new thick layer directly.
Watch for Buildup
